You design the room. The workshop needs the drawings.

Most designers draw every job twice: once to show the client, once for the joiner. Designer Lab makes both from the same design.

  • No redrawing in CAD
  • Every unit dimensioned
  • Sizes on the iso drawing
  • Fillers and end panels worked out

We are running a small pilot with a few suppliers: your units, sizes and finishes in Designer Lab, so designers can plan with them. It is a pilot, so we agree what it covers with you in writing first.

  • No personal data about designers is shared with you

What Designer Lab does

Design fitted furniture in your browser. Get it in 3ds Max as you work.

Designer Lab is a browser app for interior designers and joiners. You plan wardrobes, kitchens, TV walls and wall designs to real sizes, and it builds the same design live in 3ds Max 2023 to 2026, with workshop drawings, DXF and a cut list from the same model.

What is the easiest way to model a wardrobe for 3ds Max?

Design it in Designer Lab instead of modelling it by hand. Type the wall width and height, then build the wardrobe section by section: hanging, shelves, drawers, a desk or a vanity. Choose hinged or sliding doors and handles. The app sizes every panel, and the live link builds it in your open 3ds Max scene, one object per unit.

  1. Set the wall: width, height, or pick it from your plan.
  2. Add sections and their insides; doors and handles for the whole run.
  3. Turn on the live link: it appears in 3ds Max, ready for materials.

How do I connect a design app to 3ds Max?

Designer Lab Link is a small file you drag into 3ds Max once. After that, the link runs whenever Designer Lab and 3ds Max are both open: change a unit in the browser and the scene follows a moment later. Objects are named by unit, with one material per part type, ready for your materials and lights.

Can it make workshop drawings and a cut list?

Yes. From the same design you export a PDF drawing set (plan, elevations, sections and each unit in detail), 2D DXF for AutoCAD, an OBJ model, and a CSV cut list of every panel with its size. The drawings and the 3ds Max model always match, because they come from one model.

What can I design with it?

Fitted, walk-in and freestanding wardrobes, and study walls with desks; straight, L, U and island kitchens; TV walls with cladding; wall designs with panel mouldings; and the whole home from its DXF plan, area by area. Bathrooms, floors and ceilings are coming.

Questions

How does the free trial work?

Make an account and you get 30 days with everything in Pro: every design area, every export (PDF, DXF, OBJ and the cut list) with no watermark, unlimited cloud projects and the 3ds Max live link. Sharing projects with a studio team comes with Studio. When the trial ends, your designs are kept and the live link stops until you choose a plan. No card is needed. While we are in beta, we approve each new account first.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. Cancel from the link in your Paddle receipt email, or write to us. You keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for, and your projects stay in your account.

What happens to my designs and data?

Your projects are stored in your account, and only you can open them. Accounts and projects are kept with our database provider, Supabase; payments go through Paddle, so we never see your card details. The Privacy policy has the details.

Which versions of 3ds Max work with the live link?

3ds Max 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 on Windows. Once signed in, you download Designer Lab Link from the Export menu and drag it into 3ds Max once; after that the link runs whenever both are open. The app itself always runs on this site, never inside 3ds Max.

Does it work offline?

You need a connection to sign in and open Designer Lab. Once it is open, the design work runs in your browser: if the connection drops, your work is kept in the browser and you can save it to the cloud again when you are back online.

Which languages does it support?

This website is in English and Arabic. The editor and its drawings are in English for now. Sizes can be shown in millimetres, centimetres, metres or inches.

How can I pay?

By card, PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay, depending on your country. Paddle processes the payment, sends the invoice and handles sales tax and VAT.
